My name is Johnny Betts. What are you looking for in a movie review? Chances are you'd like a good idea of whether or not the movie being reviewed is worth seeing, and you probably wouldn't mind being entertained in the process. Correct? So why do so many movie critics use their reviews mainly to make themselves sound like ingenious wordsmiths rather than using their reviews to entertain you? You know, critics who throw around words like "de rigeur," "punctilious," and "vertiginous"?Well, if you find yourself out of sync with most movie critics, then you're in the right place. My reviews (and the other sections on this site) are here to enlighten, educate, and entertain. Granted, I'll strut around and act like I'm a genius at times, but it'll ALWAYS be in the interest of making you laugh. You might not always agree with what I say, but hopefully you'll at least be entertained. I'll be honest with you, I have high expectations for this website. Quite simply, I want it to be considered the most entertaining movie site on the Internet. It won't contain the most information (because hey, I can't dedicate 12 hours a day to it), but I'll be so bold to stack my reviews against anybody else's. That's right, I'm not scared. This site is starting off small, but with the help of fellow movie marks like yourself we can change the way people think about movies, reviews, and life in general. Well, maybe that's pushing it a bit, but we should at least be able to kick in a couple of doors along the way. |
