THE THEATER
|
The best thing I can say about the Wolfchase Cinema is that it's located in the Wolfchase Mall. The theater
isn't horrible, but it isn't great either. The screens are fairly small, but hey, there's nice leg room and
cup holders! Why do all the theaters advertise the fact that their seats have cup holders? Do ANY theaters
not have seats with cup holders? Has anybody in the history of the world decided not to go to a particular
theater simply because it didn't have seats with cup holders? Just curious.
The problem with Wolfchase is that not all of the screens have stadium seating. The new releases will have it,
but other than that you might want to ask to make sure. But it's pretty lame, in the year 2005, to have to ask,
"Is such-and-such movie in a stadium-seating theater?"

WHAT SETS IT APART
|
- It's in the Wolfchase Galleria.
- Free refills on large, overpriced drinks.
- Accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
- Hearing devices.

CONCESSIONS
|
If you insist on the conventional popcorn, coke, or candy, then here's what you'll be paying.
| Popcorn: |
SMALL - $3.00 |
MEDIUM - $3.50 |
LARGE - $4.00 |
| Drinks: |
SMALL - $3.00 |
MEDIUM - $3.25 |
LARGE - $3.50 |
| Candy: |
SMALL - $1.50 |
MEDIUM - $2.25 |
LARGE - $2.75 |
YOU'RE IN A MALL! There are several stores where you can stop and get a snack or something to smuggle into the
theater. Why bother funding the concession cartel with your
hard-earned money?

WHAT'S NEARBY
|
Want to eat or shop somewhere before or after the movie? Well, you're already in the mall, so you've got a ton
of options. Click here for a full
listing of shops and eateries located in the mall.
Some other good (i.e. close) options include:
Best Buy - The one-stop source for all your home entertainment
needs. Or so they would have you believe.
Chick-Fil-A - They've got the best chicken sandwiches
around. Sure, you'll pay $4 to $5 for a meal, but you'll get your money's worth. Amazingly, the employees
are some of the most efficient and courteous in the fast food business. But remember, they are NOT open on
Sundays.
Logan's Roadhouse - This isn't the fanciest steakhouse
in town, but the price is right. And hey, you get free peanuts! Who can pass up free peanuts?
Olive Garden - I know Conan O'Brien likes to make fun of
the Olive Garden, but it's pretty good Italian food at a reasonable price.
On the Border - This used to be my favorite
Mexican restaurant in Memphis, but I think it's been replaced by La Hacienda. Warning - be wary of the water.
It tastes like it's from a hose. I guess they're going for that authentic Mexican feel.
Red Lobster - Their Cheddar Bay cheese biscuits
are AWESOME! Unfortunately, their entrees taste like they were bought from the frozen food section at Kroger and
then heated up in the oven for 15 minutes at 475 degrees.
Smokey Bones - Most Memphians refuse to believe that any BBQ
other than Corky's exists, but Smokey Bones is quickly making a name for itself. After your beef brisket sandwich,
give the fried doughnuts a try.
Steak 'N Shake - I love this place! For those who haven't
been, it's a sit-down burger shop fixed up like an old '50s diner. What sets them apart is their delicious
steakburgers. They're a little more expensive than Burger King or McDonald's, but you can taste the difference.
Keep an eye on the Sunday paper for frequent coupons.

THE GIST
|
If you're at the mall and you decide to see a movie on a whim, and you're not overly concerned about top-notch
quality, then you could do worse. Otherwise, this isn't an ideal option.
Don't forget to tell 'em that Johnny Betts sent you. They'll spit in your face, but you can complain to the
manager and get in for free. Everybody wins.
