The reason is because my friend had it, and I would go over there to play it, but he wouldn't let me borrow it until he beat it... which he never did. I never got my own copy because I didn't want to give my friend the satisfaction of knowing I gave up on my desire to borrow his copy. Some might argue that was a little childish, and since I was in the 5th or 6th grade then I would agree. That game’s a sore spot for me as well. It was a LONG game, no saves, and got rediculously hard on the last levels. I saw the technodrome once, but never made it inside.
