MOVIE HORROR STORIES

Angry Mothers
by Patrick Mulhern

My little cousins had been dying to see HARRY POTTER & THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX since they first heard about it. Naturally, I made sure to get tickets for the first showing. With everything set I was ready for a nice night out.

As we arrived an hour early I could see the line just starting. Showing our tickets, we got in line and waited. About 15 minutes into the wait a woman with her child comes up to the ticket booth and immediately asks for the first showing of HARRY POTTER. The attendant politely tells the woman, "Sorry but we sold out a few days ago." After hearing this, the woman goes into a full-on rant.

Language flies as I try my best to cover both my cousins' ears, wondering how I could explain their new vocabulary to their mother. Three to five minutes into the verbal assault from Hades, the manager arrives with security. Finally, after three more intolerable minutes of her ranting, she is forced to leave.

Thinking the night may have been ruined, I solemnly walk my cousins inside. As the movie started up though all fears were erased as every child cheered at the return of Harry Potter.

Johnny: What can I say, my mother really wanted to see Harry Potter on opening night...

Moral of the Story: Early to buy, early to line makes a moviegoer less likely to whine.

Send your stories to me and let the whole world know just how dangerous going to the movies can be.
