MOVIE HORROR STORIES

You Gotta Keep it Reel
by Karen

My story doesn't deal with the people in the theater; it deals with the theater itself. I went to go see the movie Ordinary People. Part way into the second reel of the movie, the film broke. This in itself was not good, but instead of fixing the film and continuing they started the third reel. This one played until they got the second one fixed at which time they stopped it and started up the second one. As a result, Timothy Hutton's character had gotten in trouble for quitting the swim team without telling his parents before he ever quit the team. It made for a very confusing showing.

This is the same theater that showed the movie Superdad out of order completely. They showed reel one, reel three, and reel two. It was actually kind of amusing -- the movie ended, and then kept going.

Johnny: Superdad? That's the movie I've heard referred to as Superdud. My guess is they had to think of something, anything, to keep the audience's interest.

Moral of the Story: Any movie called Superdad probably shouldn't be seen at the theater; it could prove to be more trouble than it's worth.

Send your stories to me and let the whole world know just how dangerous going to the movies can be.
