MOVIE HORROR STORIESby Kellee Well one time I went to the movie theater on Summer Avenue to see a movie with my mother. Like some other stories there, the mentally ill decided to come see a movie that day. When we first got there we found it a little ironic that nobody was there to see the movie. I mean, it was totally empty. So like 15 minutes into fighting temptation, a large group of grown men and women and some young children came in yelling and arguing. I personally was a little thrown off because right off the bat I didn't quite catch that they were mentally ill. So anyway, throughout the entire movie they were yelling at each other and threatening each other, and then one of them actually got a whoopin' by the person who took care of them. That was the last time I ever went to that movie theater. What an experience! Johnny: Ah, yet another memorable experience from the Palace Cinema - the theater formally known as Cinema Showcase 12. If you'll recall, that's the theater where I got an unwanted lesson in Movie-Going: Thugonomics Style. Moral of the Story: Not to belabor the point, but could someone check and see why certain facilities (or institutions) have deemed it perfectly acceptable to take large groups of mentally disabled people to the movies and then exercise hardly any supervision? Perhaps it would be advisable to rent the entire theater so as not to disturb other movie patrons. Send your stories to me and let the whole world know just how dangerous going to the movies can be. |
