The Ferryman

Incentives

An upcoming horror movie that really has my attention is the independent New Zealand film The Ferryman. The reason this one has piqued my interest is because it was developed initially by New Zealand producer Matthew Metcalfe who was also a producer on the extremely underrated and under seen Nemesis Game, which I recommend checking out if you have yet to do so.

Machete
The Ferryman tells the story of a group of young tourists who charter a boat in the South Pacific Ocean. They expect to have the holiday of a lifetime, but those plans go awry when they stumble upon an evil that demands vengeance at any cost.

In what's being hailed as "a return to the classic horrors of the late seventies and early eighties," The Ferryman is already generating a high amount of interest. According to producer Metcalfe, "The film showed its promo last week at the London Screenings where it generated a huge amount of buzz."

The Ferryman is being directed by Chris Graham whose first film (Sione's Wedding) is the 4th highest-grossing New Zealand film of all time.
