Johnny Betts One of the reasons I decided to start reviewing movies is because I found that most critics completely trashed movies that I and my friends liked. Then they'd sing the praises of some boring arthouse movie that couldn't keep me awake for more than 5 minutes. In my moviegoing experience I've come to realize that the average moviegoer tends to agree with my viewpoint more often than the viewpoint of your typical movie critic.

So below are a few movies that I enjoyed (either a lot or at least on some level) in 2004 that most critics absolutely hated. I'm including movies that scored below 50% on Rottentomatoes. For example, a movie that receives 16% is a really bad rating amongst the critics. Now, these movies may not be great, but they were made to be entertaining, not intellectually enlightening. So I'm asking you to check these movies out and enjoy them just so we can spite all the curmudgeon critics out there.
