The Amazing Spiderman

“Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner.”

With the exception of the miscasting of Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane and her lack of any semblance of chemistry with Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker, I thoroughly enjoyed the first two Spider-Man movies – particularly the second.  The third was little more than an exercise in cashing in on box office clout, and Tobey Maguire’s dancing around like a citified jack-a-dandy ranks in the top worst scenes I’ve seen in a comic book movie.  The bad taste that it left dancing around in the palate of Middle America helped open the door to the upcoming reboot – The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

Initially, this produced within me about the same excitement as the thought of listening to Channing Tatum give a speech.  In other words, a negligible amount.  However, I must admit that the movie is starting to look pretty entertaining, albeit nowhere near the reboot stratosphere in which Christopher Nolan’s Batman series resides.

Still, my expectations are tempered.

Check out this exclusive four minute super preview and see what you think.  The Amazing Spider-Man opens on July 3rd, 2012.
